Right of Withdrawal: Returned Goods are Damaged

As a consumer, you are responsible for any damage to the goods before you return them. If the company did not inform you of your right of withdrawal before the conclusion of the contract, you are not responsible for any depreciation of the goods.

If the returned item is damaged, the seller must refund the full amount initially paid. They will then assess whether or not you are responsible for the damage. If that is the case, the depreciation will be determined, and you may be held liable for that specific amount.
