Invoice Paid but Company Did Not Receive Anything (Counterfeit Invoice)
If you have paid an invoice but the company says it has not received anything, you may be the victim of invoice fraud. This is a form of scam where scammers manipulate invoices by altering details like the bank account number.
If you have paid a counterfeit invoice, you are still legally obligated to pay the original debt to the company. It is then up to the company to decide whether or not it is willing to reach a settlement.
If you have made a payment and money has been stolen from your bank account, go to your local police station to file a report. We recommend that you provide the police report number to your bank and, if applicable, your insurance company.
