Is your car showing a defect and still covered by guarantee? You have the option of a free replacement or repair. Repairs must be free of charge, meaning, for example, that no labour costs may be charged.

If repair or replacement is impossible or too costly for the seller, you may request a price reduction or even the cancellation of the sales contract. Keep in mind that you cannot request the annulment of the sale for a minor defect. It is the seller's responsibility to prove that the defect is minor.

You can demand a price reduction or the termination of the contact in the following situations:

• the seller refuses repair or replacement;
• there is another defect in the car, despite the seller's attempt to repair or replace it;
• the defect is so serious that an immediate price reduction or cancellation of the purchase contract is justified;
• the seller cannot complete the repair or replacement within a reasonable time or without causing you serious inconvenience.
