Package Holiday: Alternative Arrangements Offered by the Tour Operator (e.g. a different hotel)
A package holiday cannot be changed unilaterally by the tour operator (without the customer's prior agreement) unless all three following conditions are met:
- The right to make changes is included in the contract;
- The change is minor;
- The organiser has clearly informed you of this in writing or by e-mail.
If the change is minor, you may still cancel, but cancellation fees apply unless you can prove the change materially affects your trip.
If the tour operator alters key aspects of your trip (e.g., departure date or hotel quality), you can refuse and ask for a full refund.
The tour operator must refund you the price of the trip within 14 days. You are also entitled to appropriate compensation, except when the change is due to force majeure.
