Price Indication of Goods and Services
The price of a product or service should be clear and easily visible. A shop must display the total price in euros, including VAT and all additional costs you are required to pay. This price can appear on the packaging of each product or in its immediate vicinity, for example on the shelf.
Some services, such as dry cleaning, are similar or identical each time. For such services, the business must offer a price list showing the different services and their corresponding prices.
Other services are customised or carried out differently each time. For example, installing a staircase. For such services, it is not possible to announce a fixed rate in advance. In that case, when you request it, the business must provide a quote for the specific service. The business may charge a fee for preparing that quote, but must clearly inform you in advance.
An advertising brochure does not have to display specific prices. However, it is important that the ads do not contain misleading information about prices or discounts.
