Problem with a Voucher, Gift Certificate, etc.
Gift cards, vouchers and similar credits are not subject to specific legislation in Belgium. The issuer of such vouchers has the freedom to set the terms and conditions for them: the expiration date, any exchange conditions and other provisions.
However, the issuer of gift cards and vouchers must communicate the terms and conditions to the consumer prior to issuance. After the voucher is issued, the issuer may not unilaterally change the terms.
