Charging Additional Fees for Electronic Payments
Traders may not charge you extra fees for electronic payments. It is also illegal to refuse electronic payments below a certain amount.
However, businesses may offer different electronic payment methods depending on the amount. This must be clearly communicated (e.g., via signage).
Administrative costs may apply, but the trader must always clearly specify what these costs cover. If you are charged more than the stated price, you should be provided with an explanation for the surcharge. If the explanation is unclear to you and you suspect it may be a hidden charge for credit/debit cards, ask the trader for clarification.
