The FPS Economy monitors the quality of petroleum products marketed in Belgium. In particular, it checks the quality of products at gas stations, for example, if you have had engine problems after refuelling.

If the petroleum products do not meet the required standards, the inspection results are communicated to the Economic Inspectorate of the FPS Economy. The Economic Inspectorate takes action in case of suspected fraud. This may lead to temporary or permanent closure of the point of sale.
